GPT-4.5 and GPT-5 Update: OpenAI’s Future of AI

GPT-4.5 and GPT-5 Update: Sam Altman and OpenAI unveil the next-gen ChatGPT, redefining AI intelligence without a chain of thought.

Sam Altman, the brains behind the company that brought the world's most powerful AI chatbot to the world, promises to simplify this technology and make it more accessible than ever.

The world's leading artificial intelligence company, until China with DeepSeek proves otherwise, has just announced what will potentially be a revolution in its language models. They promise simpler and more powerful user interaction for everyone from novices to experts.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has not minced words in admitting that his current products are too complicated. "We want AI to just work for you," Altman said in X, acknowledging that all the models the company currently has have become a headache for many users.

The solution? A plan that starts with GPT-4.5, also known as "Orion.". This will be OpenAI's last model without what they call a "chain of thought," a technology that allows AI to reason step-by-step. But the really top comes later.

GPT-5 will be the jewel in the crown: a system that will combine all the abilities of the previous models into one. You will no longer have to choose between different versions for each task. GPT-5 will do it all: text, images, videos, programming, and even advanced reasoning.

Best of all, OpenAI knows that to stay at the top, it must change strategies, and for this, it plans to offer GPT-5 for free in its basic version. Everyone will be able to access this super-intelligent AI without paying a euro.

"In both ChatGPT and our API, we will launch GPT-5 as a system that integrates much of our technology, including O3. We will no longer release O3 as a standalone model. The free tier of ChatGPT will get unlimited chat access to GPT-5 in the standard intelligence settings, subject to abuse thresholds," comments Sam Altman in a post on X.

"Plus subscribers will be able to run GPT-5 with a higher level of intelligence, and Pro subscribers will be able to run GPT-5 with an even higher level of intelligence. These models will incorporate voice, canvas, search, deep research, and more," he adds.

Goodbye to a complicated artificial intelligence to use.

The goal is to create a "magical unified intelligence" that knows exactly what to do at any given moment. Moreover, it comes at a coincidentally perfect time, after DeepSeek, the viral Chinese AI, surprised the world with a simpler and more powerful chatbot. OpenAI does not want to be left behind and is betting big on making its own as easy to use as entering Google.

Altman has not given an exact date for the launch of these new models but leaves it up in the air that they could come to light in the coming months. Expectations are high, and many experts believe that this could mark a before and after globally with respect to AI.

Adding new features and great advantages, a few days ago it was announced that ChatGPT Search no longer needs an account for anyone to use it.

Simply put, anyone can access chatgpt.com and do a search in a matter of seconds, without needing to create an account or log in. The experience is almost the same as using Google's search engine, with the difference that ChatGPT Search uses artificial intelligence to process and present the information.

As with other AIs such as Perplexity, it will automatically search the web and give you updated answers with sources so that, as if that were not enough, you can check where it has taken the information from—thus preventing it from entering data from sources such as El Mundo Today. In addition, you have the option to force a web search by clicking on the "Search" button in the input bar so that it does this entire process 100%.

Will this be the end of Google? It's one of the big questions now, but there's no denying that OpenAI is now starting from scratch, so to speak, in this field. Google has spent decades perfecting its search algorithms and creating a massive infrastructure to handle billions of queries daily.

What is clear is that in the end, if you have doubts, what better than a chatbot to answer you? Of course, their answers are 100% reliable and with sources. Now it already has it, and what is coming with GPT-4.5 and GPT-5 is very big.
